LOCATION

Chatham, New Jersey is about 30 miles from midtown Manhattan. Local trains run from Chatham to Penn Station every hour, and take about 50 minutes. Driving takes closer to 30 minutes, but it takes about three days to find a place to park.

For those flying into the area, Chatham is a 20 minute drive from Newark International Airport (EWR), and about an hour from both John F Kennedy International (JFK) and LaGuardia (LGA).

HOTEL

We've reserved rooms ($139/night; special rate valid until September 11) at the Westin Governor Morris in Morristown, NJ, about 10 minutes from the church and the Park Savoy. Click here to book your room.  After September 11, you'll need to call the Westin directly to reserve a room as the special link will no longer work.

NEARBY

Chatham and the surrounding townships that comprise Morris County have plenty of small shops and galleries and excellent restaurants (including good old New Jersey diners). You can also enjoy the onset of fall - northern New Jersey is notoriously beautiful as the seasons change.

You can spend half a day - and half a paycheck - at the Mall at Short Hills, about 10-15 minutes from Chatham and the Westin Governor Morris

Of course, if you arrive early or stay late, and especially if you don't make it to the east coast or the USA often, we suggest spending a full day in New York City.
